Hey everyone, does anyone have any suggestions of activities to do at home with my kids who are 8 and 10. Trying to make the summer holidays fun!

B + G the same ages.
Painting on the patio using paintbrushes and water.
Building dens with duvet covers/sheets.
Using slightly cooled melted chocolate to make their own chocolates in silicone molds.
Playing shop with M & S miniatures collected a few years ago using various briefs - healthy eating, BBQ, picnic, snack after swimming.
Cycle/scooter races.
Blackberry picking.

I'm in a similar boat and there are lots of threads about this with all the usual suggestions: crafts, baking, cooking, board games, puzzles.

Other ideas:

  • Learning a dance routine from YouTube
  • Finding a recipe online and cooking for the family (a sort of home Come Dine With Me)
  • Sorting out and decorating kids' rooms: clearing out old stuff and selling on e.g. Vinted or having a garage sale, painting or redecorating, getting AI to do a mockup of how it could look. You could even get the kids to make their own artwork for the walls.

On the back of don't sing Susan's ideas for clearing out wardrobe, why not do a carboot sale? Always a laugh, kids love them
