screaming baby in rear facing car seat

My 6 week old screams in his car seat as if it is really uncomfortable. It was his 2 year old sister's beforehand, and she used to do the same, but at the time I thought it was because she hated not being in my arms and would cry if put down any where. Now I'm wondering if the car seat itself is at fault, and whether it is worth buying another make of car seat. The one we have is a Britax seat, (rock-a-tot, I think).

Have any of you had the same - a happy child starting to scream when put in his car seat? Are ther any makes of car seat tha don't make babies scream? Help, please!!!

is the carseat cold when you put the baby in it?

We had a Silver Cross Ventura in one car and a Creatis in the other and DD screamed blue murder in both on every journey She didn't travel at all well until she went forward facing.

Does he get too hot in it?
Have you tried lots of things to look at, a mirror maybe, or a musical toy.

DS screamed non-stop whenever put in his carseat until he was about 4 months old. DD, same carseat, doesn't seem to mind so much (although she has her moments).

We have Britax Rock-a-tot and DD has never screamed in it.
Second idea of toys, calming music and one of those car mirrors so your DS can see you as you drive
