Wildfires

Is there anyone on holiday in the Var region right now? We’re heading to Frejus on August 18yh for our holiday by train from Paris and I’m am so worried day the wildfires. I can’t seem to find any yet take advice for that region….does anyone have any information/advjce/thoughts on what I should do?

Looks like it’s on maximum alert there. Not sure I would be going. This is what I got ‘Today (Monday, 27 July 2026), the entire Var department—including Fréjus—is under a "very severe" (Red) wildfire alert, resulting in a total ban on public access to all local forest massifs’

Anyone else?!?

If you are due to go on 18th August that’s 21:22 days away. Things can change dramatically in that time and no one can tell you what’s going to happen

My family are in the Var at the moment. We’re flying out on Sunday. I think it’s been fairly usual this year so far, there have been fires, including a biggish one near Les Arcs, but they’ve been contained quite quickly. I don’t think there’s anything burning out of control like they’ve seen in SW France.
