Recommendations for a sea view cottage in Cornwall next August

I'm planning a bucket list holiday to Cornwall next year, ideally in August. We've never been before and really want a cottage/apartment with a sea view - has anyone stayed anywhere they've loved? Bonus points if pet friendly and good location to explore the area.

It depends on where you want to stay and what you want to do? Is there a set thing or place you want to visit, for example tintagel castle, st Ives, lands end, Bodmin moor, tin mines?

If you need a beach for the dog to be allowed on, few and far between, research that bit first. Otherwise you can’t enjoy the beach.

Also what is your budget as Cornwall is very expensive?

Last week of august can sometimes be cheaper depends how the bank holidays and school return dates fall.

You'll shake your head at me as it's not Cornwall, but we took the dog to Pant Rhiw Cottage in North Wales once, had amazing sea views and a brilliant holiday. It's a National Trust cottage.

North Coast is going to be busier than the south in August. For the South coast,
If you want to be near restaurants and cafes perhaps look at Falmouth - Gylly beach is dog friendly.
Par sands are well placed for getting around Cornwall, has a dog friendly sandy beach and have supermarkets in St Austell although the town isn't that great.
Or if you want rugged Cornish beaches perhaps look at Whitsand Bay in SE Cornwall. V few dog restrictions on the beaches and generally quieter.

I personally like the kingsand area (se as you enter cornwall) as not full of tourists. But just depends what you want from a holiday.

Depends on your budget , August is peak season. Have a look at Aspects Holidays , we have used them several times and they have always been really good. Their website will give you an idea of what's available and prices at that time of the year.

We stayed in an apartment above a shop in Marazion overlooking St Michael’s Mount. It was two bedrooms one of which had a balcony with sea view and was dog friendly. Great base for that area of Cornwall.
