Campsites or resorts in Dolomites??

We’re looking at changing our accommodation as currently booked into campsite in Lake Garda and forecast is intense heat which we’re not good at!

Had a brainwave to move up rather than to a different destination and campsite won’t charge us any fees! Flying into Verona and happy to get a hire car or train but main aim is to increase altitude to reduce temps.

Can anyone give me any advice on the area or any resorts / towns / campsites to look at?

2 kids age 14 and 11 and we’re all quite sporty so campsites with lakes / football / tennis / water slides would be absolutely ideal.

Camping Vidor is a great site with the most stunning surroundings. It has waterslides, a climbing wall, games room, bike hire etc…

The Dolomites sit 1,000–2,000m up, so you're looking at 5/8°C cooler than Lake Garda in summer.
A few Dolomites campsites worth looking at: Camping Tre Pievi near Arabba (solid facilities, quieter, and you are right in hiking territory for active kids), or Camping Passo Giau if you want something more dramatic. Honestly though, mid-altitude towns like Ortisei or Cortina d'Ampezzo have smaller family campsites that feel less hectic than the big resort parks, which can matter if your kids are heat-stressed already (over stim on top of the heat is rough).
Dolomites get busy in summer, especially weekends. If your kids are heat-sensitive, they might be sensitive to crowds and noise, so aim for mid-week where you can, and pick a site that's a bit away from the main town rather than right next to the village centre.
The train from Verona is genuinely easy, or hire car gives flexibility to escape if a spot feels too intense. Pack a good walking kit including suncream with the altitude means UV is stronger even when it's cooler.

We were in Lake Garda and the Dolomites in the last two weeks . Lake G was 30 degrees plus and very hard to enjoy anything other than the water during the day .
The Dolomites were perfect , about 24 . I’d definitely head more for the Dolomites . Was like a literal breath of fresh air when we got there !

DH is still keen to go as the forecast looks like it dips a bit and is ‘only’ 34 but I’m still saying that’s far too hot to really enjoy anything.

Will check out those campsites thanks @Travelplannerwe don’t need to worry about quiet - DS needs a lot of activities! Will look around the towns you’ve suggested
