Has anyone stayed in the Alpbachtal in Austria in the summer?

DH, DS who will be 13 and I are thinking of going walking there next summer.

Is there a particular village that anyone would recommend? I'd prefer a quieter one. DS would like a pool.

We stayed in Alpbach recently It's a pretty, quiet town with some restaurants and shops, not many attractions in the town but a short drive/bus trip to the mountain lifts or other towns with lakes. We had younger dcs who were mostly interested in the play areas and swimming. A 13yo might enjoy some bits of the Lauserland park, there's a mountain coaster, a platform to jump off (max age 14) and some Go Ape style obstacles.
We stayed in Hotel zur Post which has a pool, though it is unheated and not really luxe, but my dcs enjoyed it. You get an Alpbachtal card when you stay in most of the hotels, this provides free use of the buses and mountain lifts, and lake/pool entry, and some other discounts. The buses run once an hour and we didn't hire a car, but it was a bit limiting and you'd be able to access more walking areas with a car.

Thank you @Bucochester. I like the look of Alpbach but it sounds like we might need to stay in one of the bigger towns that has a public pool.
