If you had 2k for a oct half term break for 4, where would you go?

Two teenage dc. Like city breaks but also the outdoors. Nice food. Maybe 2 or 3 night stay, uk or short haul if poss? Cost would be for travel and accommodation only.

any ideas? We do London quite frequently and have done Edinburgh, Glasgow, York, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, Belfast.

wondered about Efteling as something different but not sure if dc would be too old.

What part of the UK are you travelling from?

There are lots of places in the UK that are nice in the Autumn - and £2k would get you a nice long weekend away. I think the New Forest is great at that time of year - autumnal, country pubs with roaring fires, cycling (pedal assist…!), walks - loads of activities for teens.

look at Skyscanner.net to see best flights for your dates, then Booking dot com for accommodation. Barcelona, Malaga, Seville will all be lovely in the autumn, or potentially Lisbon?

Yes I’d love to do somewhere like those @MissAmbrosiajust wasn’t sure I could do it in the budget but I will have a look

Never been to the new forest @MidnightPatrolit would be a long drive for a short break but will have a look

Lake District is an obvious option if you're north east

Palma is a short flight but warmer weather than here in October. Beautiful city with great food and really affordable options. Otherwise how about Amsterdam?

If you haven’t done Efteling before then I would highly recommend it. It’s the most magical place.

Porto

Agadir in Morocco. Cheaper than you'd think, and lovely.

Bruges. It's just gorgeous.

Malta can have lovely weather in Oct. EasyJet flight, book an apartment and get the open top buses around the island.

Like pp says, go onto Skyscanner, put in your dates and outgoing airport then select ‘anywhere’ and it will give you the best priced flights for everywhere you can fly to. Then booking.com or Expedia for accommodation.
otherwise go onto easyJet. You should easily get a city break for that price.

Efteling is brilliant I don't think I theu awouls be too old. It's not that far from Amsterdam so could do city break and then there. We did the overnight ferry from Newcastle when we went... That can add a bit to you trip it's not exactly a luxury cruise but the food and music etc is failed enjoyable

We went to Budapest last October half term with ds 16 and had a great time. Reasonably priced when you’re there, lots to see and can get train out to lakes etc.
