Holidays for family of 6

We've just come back from our 4th caravan holiday, while it was good and my children enjoyed themselves, I feel like its time to try a holiday abroad but the prices are eye watering.
Ideally aiming for Greece for October next year. Is it better to book early or try and get a deal this time next year?
I just can't see how we can afford anything more than a caravan when holidays seem to start at 4k!

Flights are hugely expensive at the moment. That may push any holiday price up.

Would you consider driving and going in May half term or Summer? I would look at France or Belgium/Netherlands. Maybe less secure weatherwise unless you drive really far south but it could be better price wise.

Thanks for your reply!
It does seem to be that way, unfortunately I do not drive and don't have any plans to change that

We are also travelling from Scotland the flights seem to be more expensive than flying from London

Family of 6 here, quite diverse age range, we are drivers, but kids were car-sick (OK on flights, esp less than 3 hours), so we had limited choices, and wanted plenty of "entertainment". to keep them all occupied, not necessarily kids clubs or package hols. We went down the theme park route mainly, and did a) Duinrell (near AMS) train to Leiden, then a short bus to door of park b) Disneyland (direct train from CDG to gates of the park, then cheaper accom to suit 6) c) Port Aventura (flight into BCN then train directly to resort, cheaper apartment walking distance) or flight into REU. We did a few others too, but probably a bit torturous a journey. Eurocamp can work if it is the right airport and the right transfer. Taking them out of school just a day or so before or the official holidays after made a massive difference to the price, but you of course run the risk of a whole different thread starting up on the moral rights of this. Hope this helps xx

Family of that size you will need at least two rooms so I’d book now for a deal for next year. Turkey is better value IMO and there is quite a good choice of accommodation to suit.

I find Christmas is a good time to book, the prices seem a bit cheaper maybr because there are deals / people aren’t spending as much money on holidays?! I’m sure if you find a destination and run it through AI it can tell
you the best time to book that type of holiday
