What is Barcelona nightlife like?

For anyone who has been recently.

Amazing.

It depends, Barcelona is not a holiday resort with a night club area. It is a big city so your question is very much like asking how London night life is… it can be massively expensive and sophisticated or dodgy and dangerous depending on where you go.

I loved the small bars in the El Born area - very chilled vibe, Spanish clientele.

Don’t go, I went in may and there is a growing anti tourist movement, lots of hostility, graffiti and you are treated like second class citizens.

There are 2 lines when enter places (either officially or unofficially) and locals are given preference to entry (you will queue longer and pay more)

there is a lot of street crime, pick pocketing etc and it feels hostile.

I would go to Lisbon or Porto over Barcelona.

I used to be a huge fan but too much crime and general fuckery in recent years. I don’t plan on ever going back now, and I must have been over a dozen times. Paris is way better now in all respects. Lisbon nice as mentioned above, but a bit small.
