Hi we are looking at short breaks in Poland, going as a couple as grown up children have no interest in going. So we have decided to go on a short city break and decided on Poland as the weather doesn't seem to be too hot there it seems a similar temp to UK. Any advice for places to stay or eat etc would be appreciated thanks

In Poland, I've only been to Krakow, which is beautiful, very affordable, really interesting and so much to see.

It is easy to get into the City by train, from the airport.
It is the place that most people who want to visit Auschwitz usually stay (which I'd highly recommend). I would also recommend visiting the Salt Mines.

Thank you how far is it to Krakow on the train and is it easy to get around on public transport

I have been to Krakow, Gdansk and Wroclaw and of the three I preferred Gdansk.

From memory I think it was about 40mins.
Yes, it was easy.

Once in Krakow you can walk everywhere.

If you're going in the summer, Gdansk would be a good option as there's loads to do in the city, which is lovely and the coast is only 20 mins by train. Public transport is excellent and very cheap.

I've not been to Krakow but Wroclaw is also lovely. But Krakow, Auschwitz and possibly Zakopane for hiking in the summer or winter sports would also be a great holiday.

Gdansk is lovely! I only spent a day there though but went to the solidarity museum which was interesting and then wandered around the water front and old town.
