Safe neighbourhoods in Rome

Where are the good areas in Rome? Suddenly have 2 nights there we need to book accommodation for and we're looking at hotels/air bnb but have no idea where the non-rough areas are! We probably won't want to go out in the evening but want to feel safe coming & going.

Prati is lovely and easy to get around.

We’ve stayed in The NH Collection Roma Giustiniano in the Prati neighbourhood of Rome, specifically on Via Virgilio 1, just east of Vatican City. It’s about a 10-minute walk to St. Peter’s Basilica and Vatican City. The Lepanto Metro A station is about a 5-minute walk away. Lovely location.

Monti. I've stayed there 3 times. Last was just me and a female friend. All fine.

We also stayed in an air bnb in Prati. Was very convenient and quiet in the evenings.

Around Castel Sant’ Angelo is safe, picturesque and convenient

We've been staying in Prati, near Castel Sant' Angelo for nearly 20 years, never had a bad experience and there's a handy bus stop for the airport there.

Monti is very nice and you can walk to everything from there. There are loads of restaurants and ice cream places and an amazing bakery.
