Can anyone recommend a nice beach holiday that's within a few hours flight from the UK please?

It's my partner's 40th this year and I want to surprise her with a little trip away. We have 5 nights. Looking for a nice beach location, ideally all inclusive that doesn't cost the earth.

I am going to propose so extra points for really romantic spots :)
Has anyone done a private boat charter from their hotel and have any recommendations?

I was thinking of Italy - Amalfi, Sorrento etc as she really wants to visit Pompeii but it's way too expensive unfortunately.

Thank you in advance!

She's a lucky woman!

I wouldn't give up on Amalfi yet. It is very doable if you avoid staying in Sorrento, Positano and the likes. Have a look at Salerno, it is a big town, with beaches, boat trips/ferries to all the usual towns along the Amalfi coast, direct train from Naples, train direct to Pompeii. It is just on the edge of the usual coastal area but right beside it, and is therefore a little more affordable for many of us!

I was there a few years ago, just for the night and thought, wow this place is underrated! It is typical Italian, so some parts are a little worn around the edges, but it is charming just the same. All the advantages of the Amalfi coast without the mad crowds and the prices.
