Albania Tirana ATM

DD is going to Albania in a couple of weeks, Has anyone been recently and withdrawn money at an ATM at the airport? One of her friends wants to order lek in the UK but the exchange rate is really poor as Albania is a closed currency.
DD would rather wait and get cash there.

You have to be careful with airport ATMs because they notoriously give crap conversion rates and charge fees. Tell her to just take the minimum she needs to get by until she can get money out in Tirana. My partner and I travel a fair bit and these days he has a revolut card which he loads money onto to use overseas and pay for things with so you could look into that.
If she's staying in Tirana for any length of time she wants to take the cable car up Dajti and go exploring up there and see the old communist party building ruins and if course the amazing views up there.
