New beach idea, or just 1st world problems?

Hey all,

ME and the wife recently returned form Corfu and after having a great week away, something kept bothering me.

We went self-catering and this included beach-side sunbeds (and parasol). This was great as we could go into the sea with the little one and then he could relax in the shade under the umbrella or chill on the sun-bed. However we kept having to move the sunbeds to stay in the shade, which when everyone starts doing it turns the beach into looking like a pile-up!

I said to the wife it would be handy if we had something we could pack and bring that would clip onto the parasol. Low and behold I couldnt find anything that comes pre-packaged.

I asked on FB and people said they usually clip towels on with beach clips but towels take up alot of space and can become heavy when wet etc.

I was looking at designing something that could be lightweight and pre-packed and come with the clips and anchors needed. However, I wanted to see if anyone else had this problem and the solutions you had come up with for it?

I’ve seen adjustable parasols / umbrellas that clip onto golf bag carts if that’s the sort of thing you’re thinking of.

I don't understand what problem you are trying to resolve?

Like a beach tent? There are many on the market. You can attach the clips to that and they’d be sturdy enough.

Yeah it's pretty common in Italian beach culture.

We spend a few weeks around Caorle/Lignano/Bibione each summer. It's very common to see large fabric sunblocks with clips, attached to the rental parasols for this purpose.
