Question re. boarding pass issued via app.

Silly question......

I am flying American Airlines from Heathrow tomorrow. I checked in via the app and it issued me a boarding pass. I have saved it to my Google Wallet and taken a screenshot.

I am not checking baggage tomorrow, just hand luggage.

So am I good to go now? Just turn up at the airport and go to security?

Yep correct! Straight though to security

Happy Days 🤩

Thank you. I assumed it did, but I wasn't completely sure.

I suggest you print it as well.
DH called me a Luddite , but I had the last laugh when his 'phone died & it caused a lot of faff.

@oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriendsi still print mine. I had my phone lose a boarding pass many years ago so it was a bit hectic.

I am in a hotel overnight so I don't think I can. But I have print outs of the flight confirmation and my esta, just in case I need them.

I’ve not used American Airlines but all the airlines I’ve used recently have had machines where you can print a paper boarding pass by scanning your passport even if you’ve checked in online. I like to have the paper version as a back up. You don’t strictly need it but I find it less fiddly. I just tuck it into my passport.

You can always go to bag drop if phone has died. I print out for back up but rarely need it.

Thank you, I will look out for those.

My phone is fully charged right now and I plan to read rather than scroll, but it could decide to do an unexpected update just as I need to retrieve the boarding pass and I am left looking at the whirling circle of doom for half an hour. Then everything is screwed when I finally get back in and where is the techy husband when I need him? Oh yes, he is back at home as I am going without him 😭.

Not meaning to dramatise...... but my phone did decided to do an update at a very inconvenient time once before 🤣

Turn off automatic software updates then you’ll be in control of when they install. If you tell us what phone you’ve got we can tell you how to do it, if you’re not sure.

That's very kind. But it did do an update last week and it asked me first. So maybe my DH turned off that setting after the previous shambles.

But as much as I appreciate the offer I am not fiddling with settings today. "Don't poke the hornets nest with a big stick if you don't want to be stung" as my dad used to say.

On another note ..... only two normal teabags in the room?? Lots of flavoured ones, I will give them that, but only two "proper" ones. I have been wide awake for an hour and have had to resort to the plastic wasteful coffee pods in desperation 😁

Just to say thank you for you help and advice. I am having my breakfast in the terminal, and have a paper boarding pass from a machine, just in case.

🙂
