Best business class flight to Brisbane

I’m going to be flying London to Brisbane and then Adelaide to London business class. Any thoughts on what the best airline might be please? My priority is privacy.

The problem is that on any given airline they have a range of planes with cabins of different ages. So with airline X the A350 might have a newer cabin with full privacy but the B787 might not. Or vice versa it it's a B777 versus an A330.

What you can do is check which airlines fly any given route, get the flight numbers, then use Flightradar24 to get the type of aircraft that "typically" flies that route. And then go to Aerolopa ("LOPA" = "Layout Of Passenger Accommodation") to look at the cabin arrangements. But even then you can't always be sure, as some carriers have for example 787s with two different layouts.

For what it's worth, earlier this year we went to Kuala Lumpur with Etihad in business class in a 787-9 and it was fabulous. Etihad doesn't have premium economy and we were a bit concerned that their business class might have had a few corners cut, especially as it was so much cheaper than everyone else, but it was almost as good as our flight a couple of years previously with Qatar. In terms of privacy it was OK, but that's not a huge issue for us - we were in the middle of the plane (1-2-1) and there was a full divider between the 2 seats in the middle. The "doorway" to the aisle didn't close, but the only time I could see another passenger was at mealtimes. I have also heard good thinks about Vietnam Airlines, which often has very good prices on Australian routes.

Well it’s not me who has done this trip but my FIL has done it several times on emirates and Cathay Pacific. He says emirates is by far the best

Lots of airlines have pod business seats now. Just book a major airline. We are ok with BA as we like T5 at Heathrow. Emirates was good too. However the plane is the big thing. I like business upstairs on the A380.

You'd be best to read reviews on https://www.airlinequality.com/ and https://skytraxratings.com/

We've travelled to Sydney business class via Emirites several times (pre-covid so might have changed). They will collect you from your home with a chauffeur within X miles of the airport and also the same at the other end. I 'think' it was within 100miles but it was some times ago.

Another option is to get a direct flight to Perth then fly internally via Virgin/Jet star to Brisbane.

World Airline and Airport Ratings

The World Airline and Airport Star Rating programme classifies airlines and airports by the quality of product and staff service standards.

I’ve been to Australia more times than I can remember, every time on Emirates. Their planes are very up to date, their business class is fantastic and I honestly can’t fault any part of their service

Qatar. They have Qsuite which is extremely private. Great layover hub too.
