Malta hotel recommendations please

As the title says, please can anyone recommend a hotel in Malta. Valletta ideally but am open to suggestions too. I have had corking recommendations on here that don’t always appear on the booking sites so hope there’s a gem on here to be found too. Thanks so much !

Just spent a week at the Embassy. Lovely rooms. Nice pool area on the roof. Spa and gym. It was a bit of a splurge price-wise for me but worth it.

We stayed at Mr Todd in Sliema. To be fair great little boutique hotel but check out if the building work behind it is still going on because if it is it’s noisy from 7am 😐

About 15 years ago now, but I once stayed at the Phoenicia in Valletta and loved it. I loved the whole city in fact.

We air bnbed near the centre.. lovely place much cheaper than hotels

We stayed at the Excelsior last year and it was very nice. The Phoenicia looks lovely too, that's where I recommended for my parents to stay if they ever go which I am keep telling them they should!

We stayed in Paulo's Valetta, doesn't have a pool, but was nice and small. Need the code for the number pad at the entrance to get in on arrival.
