Help! Airline brought return flight forward with 16 days notice what are my options?

In 8 days due to depart on a two location holiday, self booked the component parts. The airline for the flight home has just emailed 16 days before flight bringing it forward 2 days.
I'm just about to look for alternatives but the change would mean only one full day in second location - thankfully not yet booked excursions.
I think we are only entitled to rebooking of flight cost....help!
Just going to see if any flight alternatives.
We do have travel insurance

You should have the right to refund or rebooking.
Contact the airline customer service first, then if going nowhere, contact your travel insurance.
Be aware that flight with Middle East airlines impacted by the war are sadly not covered by travel insurance. War is an exclusion.

The trouble is that more than 2 weeks ahead, your rights are limited, but looking for alternative flights are likely but not certain to add extra costs because of the short notice.

Not sure if your travel insurance would help, but if you wisely booked with a credit card you should be able to claim for consequential losses, so higher cost of replacement flights, costs to change your accommodation.

I'd also consider whether you still want to go to the second location, will it be worth it for just a day or two and what your options are.

Travel insurance won't cover earlier flight home, only earlier, I've spoken to them.

Excuse was change of schedule, we booked in Dec 25. Least worse option seems to be having 2 instead of 4 nights in second location. Thankfully booked hotel on cancellable rate and not booked any tickets for attractions. Looked at alternatives to early return but nothing suitable
