What's the Best Transport Option for First-Time Visitors to Barcelona?

I'm visiting Barcelona for the first time and trying to figure out the best way to get around the city. I'll be there for a few days and want to visit the major attractions without spending too much time navigating public transport or walking long distances.
I've heard good things about the metro, buses, taxis, and Hop On Hop Off Barcelona buses, but I'm not sure which option offers the best balance of convenience and value for first-time visitors.
If you've been to Barcelona, what transport option would you recommend? Did you find a sightseeing bus more convenient, or was public transport enough? I'd really appreciate any tips or personal experiences. Thanks!

It really depends where you're staying. We've been several times, & stayed on Las Ramblas so a lot of things were an easy walk.
Metro is quick, but not much to see !
We used the HoHo , but sometimes we had to wait for a while as they can fill up very quickly.
And do pre-book the sites.

It depends on where you staying, but if you are in the centre, TBF I would use a combination of the metro and walking.

We used the metro and found it cheap and convenient.

We’re just back from Barcelona. Stayed next to Sagrada Familia and used Hola Barcelona metro pass for our whole stay. Stations were hot as hell but the actual metro had air con so we found travelling around was a welcome chance to cool off.
