Recommendations for a child-friendly European villa for 14 near beach

Has anyone got any recommendations for large villas in Europe with the following requirements:

  • sleeps 14
  • preferably 7 bedrooms - at least 4 double bedrooms, and preferably 3 bedrooms for 6 children (however could have 2 or even 1 bedroom for the children as long as there are enough beds for 6)
  • walking distance from restaurant
  • close to the beach
  • private fenced pool
  • child friendly (kids range from 18 months to 12)
  • 45 minutes or less to the airport
We are not fussed on where we go necessarily, the above requirements are more important than country/location. I feel like I am looking for the impossible but something must exist that meets the above!

I'm sure it does exist, but the chances of somebody reading this thread and having the perfect suggestion, as well as it being free whenever you want to book it, is probably quite low.

Why don't you look yourself? Booking.com, VRBO, airbnb, Holidu, Interhome...

How about contact some travel agents who specialise in villa holidays and not expect everyone else to come up with ideas for you with a long wish list. Failing that, try ChatGPT. I do know of a super one owned by a work colleague in Grasse, but it’s around £14k per week high season….guessing you’re not in that price range.

I always book a villa and use Solmar Villas most of the time. They have loads on sale and I use their filters on the website to find what I’m after. I’ve just booked a large villa for 2027 - two families going, so a mix of kids and adults, no car needed.

I haven't stayed in this villa but have stayed in another one owned by the same people and it was lovely. The village Old Hersonissos is beautiful and it's only a few minutes drive to Hersonissos and the beaches.

I have looked for days on loads of different sites but posted on the off chance that someone had stayed in something that met all the requirements as I haven't been able to find anything despite extensive searching!

Its not that i expect people to search for me but other kind people may have some recommendations based on where they have stayed previously. I have been searching for days on loads of different sites and have barely found anything that met the requirements. A travel agent is a good shout to try, I hadn't thought of that, kind of just assumed they wouldn't do that sort of thing, not sure why! Yes our budget is a max of £12,000 so £14,000 would be over budget!

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried Solmar already with no luck, I think its a combination of the number of guests and the requirement for the pool fence that is the issue unfortunately!

I don't know when you're going or for how long obviously, so on VRBO I chose a random week next August, 7 bedrooms, private pool, Europe. It returns several hundred villas...all you then need to do is change to map search to identify which are by the coast etc

sniffydog · 01/07/2026 12:42

There are often places that have a pool shared between 2-3 villas. I'd see if you can book them all together.
