Has anyone caught the ferry from Venice to Patros Greece and if so how was it?

I’ve been from Venice to Corfu - we had a cabin and it was fine. Mainly lorry drivers but fast and efficient. Boarding was easy in Venice late afternoon and we were in Corfu by morning. Travelling in Greece has been easy but we’ve mainly done northern Greece around Epiros.

Can I ask- did you fly to Venice or go by train?

When flights were being cancelled left right and centre in 2022, we planned a route overland to the Cyclades. I think it was:

London
Paris
Milan
Bari
Patras
Piraeus and onward

Would have taken three days (and formed part of the holiday).

Ferry Venice to Patras - 32.5 hours
Ferry Bari to Patras - 16.5 hours
Train Venice to Bari - 5 hours

Enjoy your trip!

I haven’t done that exact Venice to Patras sailing, but we’ve done long Italy Greece ferries and they were fine, just very long. This one is still running in 2026, usually 2 to 3 times a week, around 33 to 38 hours, normally with a stop at Igoumenitsa, so I’d really get a cabin rather than just a deck seat. It also leaves from Fusina rather than central Venice, and I’d get there early because check in can be a bit of a process. We usually check on ferry hopper, here for example https://www.ferryhopper.com/en/ferry-routes/direct/venice-to-patras.
