Do I need to book fast track for Leeds Bradford for a 7am sat morning flight in term time. Only saw horrendous images of massive queues but that was half term

It was actually the week after half term (ours anyway) and I was stuck in it. Bought a fast track on the spot and got straight through. Def worth it. I have never seen queues like it at Leeds.
T issue is the new scanners spitting out more bags for random scanning and causing huge backlogs. And a lot of flights going at the same time with the additional gates they’ve opened.
I've done 6 flights this month and seeing same thing at various airports but for some reason they seem particularly slow at Leeds to get through these additional checks. Although I’ve not seen it as bad since that week, long queues but not out of the terminal into the bloody car park long!

Flew out of Dublin today and my bag had to go through 3 times and they could not work out why. In the end did a swab of something in the bag to placate the system and let me on my way. Good job I wasn’t rushing for my flight 🙄 Fast pass had at least got me to the scanner quickly but couldn’t help with that issue!

Thankyou, we've booked the fast track , there are alot of flights leaving in a 1 hr window, don't want the stress

It's very hit and miss - we travel on the Malaga flight at that time a few times a year and it seems 50/50 between walk through in 5 minutes and queuing out of the terminal building.

Although if you're still in the main queue at 1 hour before take off time, they'll pull you through to the fast track lane anyway. But sod's law, you've paid, meaning it's likely you'll sail through in no time.

For LBA you can book fast track when you're actually the airport so you can rock up and see if it's needed.

We have done it twice now (Manchester airport during school summer holidays), yes I’d say it’s worth it for the price - we just walked straight through both times
