Best car hire options in Florence: local firms or major companies?

Can anyone recommend a good car hire option please for Florence, Italy?

Will we save money by going for a local company I wonder? Or stick with one of the big guys?

TIA

Try DoYouItaly, I use them as a broker - have hired a car via Expedia as well. Pretty much all the companies are similar - Avios high end and the smaller companies for budget. Get the insurance directly with them at the desk, that’s always the costly part!

Thank you
I'm not a huge fan of using a broker though after family coming from overseas used one and had terrible problems because of being unable to contact outside normal working hours.

The one you’ve suggested does look like a bigger set up though.

Yes I don’t like using brokers - used to use Avis all the time - but DYI have been particularly good and I’ve used them regularly (I work for a company that has a branch in Italy). They had good customer service when I made a mistake with airport booking once, and rectified it very quickly.
