Any info about S’algar, Menorca?

We've booked a week in a villa in early July. 4 adults. Not planning on hiring a car and just mostly interested in the pool, barbecuing, eating/drinking in local restaurants - not looking for lively nightlife! - and trips/excursions.

I've read the recent threads on here about Menorca and no-one has mentioned S’algar, so looking for more of an idea as to what it's like.

Recommendations for trips, specific places to visit (without a car) would be very welcome.

I went multiple times as a child, we used to walk along the coastal path to Cala Alcaufar to get to the beach most days. It still looks like it remains a quiet place with not so many restaurants, based only on a quick scan of Google maps. You can get the bus to Mahon, seems to run every hour or sometimes every 2 hours. My mum liked Cuitadella, you'd need to change bus in Mahon to get there.

When we were there a few years ago, it was a very quiet resort. One restaurant and one local shop. It's not everyone's cup of tea given how quiet the resort is in general, but we loved it.

The buses are great and we used them a fair few times.

There isn't a beach, though as pp said the coastal walk is lovely.

Just to give some feedback: S'Algar is, indeed very quiet. There are also a lot of British expats. (Which is fine!).

The buses were good, although they don't run as frequently as we would have liked.

There's only one taxi company on the island - Radio Taxis - and they proved really unreliable. We ended up, if we needed one, going to the hotel up the road (Alua Sun) who called them for us - seems that hotels take priority!

The supermarket in the square next to Reina Isabel restaurant was great. Although really a minimarket, it stocked a wide range of good, with the exception of fresh meat/fish, and the owners will even deliver you home with your shopping, which was a real bonus in the heat.

We had an amazing meal at the vineyard, Binifadet:

... or in the restaurant at the hotel.

A week without a car was fine - if we'd been there longer, we would definitely have wanted to do more exploring.
