We usually go for a villa type holiday abroad, but DH is keen to try more of a resort based holiday where we have independent accommodation (villa or apartment with our own space) but within a complex that has a pool, restaurant(s) and located in walking distance of amenities etc. He likes to be able to walk to grab a coffee/lunch etc and also to have restaurants nearby for eating out. It’s not the type of thing we’ve ever booked so I’m a bit bewildered where to look! I know what I’m doing just finding and booking a nice villa but often they are a bit more remote/a drive to cafes etc. DC are 12-17. Don’t necessarily want a lively/full on resort, something a bit quieter and fairly civilised! Prefer self catering to hotel and for us to have some privacy whilst also the benefits of some amenities on site/nearby. Any recommendations please?
