Going to Kefalonia for the first time in a couple of months, what are the must sees? And would love any taverna or restaurant recommendations please! We will be hiring a car. Thank you

If you go to Argostoli harbour in the morning (before 11am) loads of sea turtles come in - the fishermen throw the dregs of yesterday's catch back in the sea before they head out again, and the turtles have cottoned on, they flock in for an easy brunch! Argostoli itself was a bit busy and built up for my liking, but worth a visit to see the turtles 🐢

Agree with Argostoli being built up and busy. But then again most capital cities are prob similar.

Kefalonia is lovely! Fiskardo is very pretty but it gets very busy and it can be very expensive - it's where a lot of the yachting crowd hang out.

The beaches on the South coast are good, but some busier than others. Depending on what you like/prefer, Katelios is a small resort with a strip of tavernas and bars along the beach (with not much else there), whereas Skala is bigger and noisier.

A trip to the caves in Melissani is definitely worth it:

If you're hiring a car, you might want to take a couple of days to acclimatise yourself to the roads before you drive North - the roads get very steep and windy!

Also - top tip - when you're flying home, there's a bar/restaurant just up the road from the airport with a swimming pool that you can use:

Very handy if you have time to kill after checking out of your villa/hotel.
