Very short haul sun holiday (Balearics?) - any recommendations?

Looking to go abroad for sun for around 4 days so don’t want too long flight or a long transfer (less than 1 hour). Kids are older teens. Hotel must be decent (but doesn’t need to be lavish) must be on a beach and ideally some good pools and water slides.

can anyone recommend a place in Spain/portugal/balearics?

Benalmadena in Spain is 15 min from the airport and has a lovely marina and a long promenade along the beach.

Does the water taste OK?

I’m looking for similar with my 2 older teens OP so will be watching with interest- I hope you (we 😂) get recommended some specific hotels

All the CM brand hotels and Hipotels in Cala Millor, Majorca are great. I think there are 5 of each of those hotel chains. I couldn't pick between them. I think all of the CM hotels are beachfront.

First time we stayed in a cheap 3* hotel, wasn’t that great. Second time in some apartments (from Airbnb) with no pool as we weren’t bothered about that, we ate out and went to the beach.
Not sure what PP means about the water tasting ok? Bottled water was fine?

Benalmadena is like Magaluf. Ibiza, st Elulia or Port des Torrent

Oh yeah 🤣 I’d forgotten that one!

Cala Millor is an hour by taxi, would be longer on a coach transfer. I can't think of any hotels with water slides but it's a decent busy resort for teenagers, I've been several times.
For a shorter transfer time look at Calvia as another poster said. Palma Nova or Santa Ponsa might have plenty going on for teenagers.

Benalmadina is fine, it's a huge busy family resort not a clubbing destination like Magaluf. It's very close to the airport and lots around to appeal to teenagers.

Remember that for any coach transfer, you can spend an hour while they fill up the bus from 6 planes and then another hour while the bus tours 10 hotels. So if you want a short transfer, get a taxi or pre-book a private car.
