Can you take meat and dairy on Eurostar to eat before arrival?

Has anyone been on the Eurostar from Paris to London recently? I know you can’t take prohibited items like meat and dairy back into the U.K. but can you take them to eat on the train and dispose before arriving?

Yes, you can. We travelled last week and it wasn’t an issue (although you have reminded me that I didn’t actually throw DS’ uneaten cheese sandwich away on the train).

Yes but they also make you poop on the train to make sure they're really gone.

A M&S All Day Breakfast sandwich from St Pancras actually made it all the way under the channel, through Brussels Midi (no checks) and halfway to Cologne before it was finally consumed by DS1 last year. No way am I chucking an M&S sandwich away- do I look like a millionaire?!

I should do an AMA about what it feels like to be an international criminal.
