Beach resort recommendations please

Can you please suggest some resorts we might like? Me (mum) plus 12 year old daughter

Beach/pool holiday with things to do nearby, we like water sports, boat trips, generally exploring and mooching around the shops. I love marinas.

Somewhere lively ish, but not too rowdy at night (no major hen/stag do locations)

Ideally somewhere with a short ish transfer,

I don’t want to hire a car

We’ve been looking at Spain, Italy, Portugal. I wouldn’t rule out the Canaries, but we’ll probably go to Lanzarote later in the year, so I’d prefer somewhere a bit further north.

Any suggestions gratefully received, as I seem to be going round in circles!

I can recommend Puerto de Mogan/ Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria. I’ve travelled there a lot on my own with teen dd. I’ve always felt very safe. There’s two lovely marinas, beautiful beaches, walks, water sports, boat trips, a lovely big shopping centre and great restaurants. If you get a private transfer you can be in PR in 30 minutes.

Try Menorca. Es Castell is small with a lovely harbour, very close to Mahon the capital and also to the airport so quick for transfers.

Sorrento, Italy (A very compact beach but great if you like shopping!)

Armação de Pêra, Portugal

Also worth consideration is Malta but you need to really look into what each resort offers.

Alghero in Sardinia. 12yo DS and I just had a great holiday there. There's a marina, busy old town, hotels along the lido, boat trips etc. It's a 30 minute transfer by bus, so taxi would be 20 minutes.

Costa adeje tenerife

For a marina short transfer plus lots to do try hilton malta. No beach but a beach club. The executive lounge make it like AI but there's tonnes of reasonable price restaurants nearby

Peniscola in Spain is great. Combine with a trip to portaventura if you fancy theme/waterpark. Amazing. Lovely old town plus great beach. Fly to reus.
