Corsica in August - have I made a mistake?

We booked a week mid August in Corsica, in a mobile home on a beautifully peaceful site in the hills, but near a beach in Meria.

Now I'm worried it's going to be outrageously hot and unbearable! Talk me down, or not, pls.

It'll be hot but lovely breezes. A huge plus is the excellent wine. Sit under a tree and sip.

Honestly. Yes it will be super hot
We are going to the South of Spain in July and I am starting to dread it. I'm kicking myself for forgetting about temps before booking.

I went to Greece last August. Was worried about the same but it was only 23-25 degrees and really breezy.

This. Greek island last August, everyone said how hot and unbearable it would be, but it was 27-29 all week and there was a gorgeous breeze. It was worse back in London both before and when we got home.

I hope you're all right (except for the poster also dreading southern spain!)

We went to Corsica mid August - it's was wonderful. Lots of sun but also very windy which helped.

HappyHolidays75 · 31/05/2026 21:12

@Peonytimeguys We've been a few times in August. Stayed in a relatives place with no Aircon and it was fine. Cools off nicely in the evening. Just keep curtains and windows closed during the day, then throw them open once the temp drops. Heat never stopped us hiking so although hot was manageable.

The lovely thing about Corsica is that you can go from beach to hilltop in next to no time (and often through a cloud layer halfway up) so you can pick your climate.

Or you can get up very early, have a long siesta through the middle of the day, and emerge in the evening for a late swim.

Thank you! I'm feeling better about it now

I went to Greece August 2 years ago and melted!
Does the bedroom have air conditioning?

Peonytimeguys · 31/05/2026 21:33

The mobile home has air conditioning, yes

Ah lovely. Not been to corsica but it sounds beautiful. As long as you can escape to air con, you can work around the heat

Corsica is beautiful - you will have a wonderful time. And the beach will have a lovely breeze and crystal clear water….
