We're hoping to go to Kenya, Tanzania or Botswana, but can't find what we want.

  1. Must be a package deal .
  2. No extended beach stay, maybe 2-3 days IF there are things to do nearby.
  3. No tents - which seems to be a major stumbling block.

Any ideas, please ?

@oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends wildlife worldwide will book your flights and give you the security of a package deal. We did a bird watching holiday with them. They are very good. There's a big on their website "book with confidence" that tells you all the good things about them

@oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriendsThey are package holidays by the legal definition. Not sure why you don’t think flights, transfers and accommodation booked by one company is not a package holiday? It absolutely is. Wildlife worldwide does exactly this and Expert Africa too I believe. If they don’t do the flights, I’m incorrect but you only need certain elements of a holiday to be booked by a tour operator and it becomes a package. Why did toy think flight, transfers and accommodation is NOT a package?

@Musicaltheatremum @MeetMeOnTheCorner

Thanks for all your help, but ....

From WW website

Some of the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. But ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services listed on this website. This website will provide you with information on the protection that applies in the case of each holiday and travel service offered before you make your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected. Please see our booking conditions for information, or for more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate go to: www.caa.co.uk

I looked at a few EA holidays, & they do not include flights.

@oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends That’s because safari flights might be used in light aircraft! It’s obvious when you think about it. I’d just use a fly into Nairobi type holiday then and don’t go anywhere adventurous. You can see where it DOES apply! Start checking. Wildlife worldwide book flights for you! I know,I’ve used them. You need to read what the service is. You might be better off looking at TUI or similar!

We stayed at Amakhala Game Reserve on the Eastern Cape. They have several lodges and areas to stay. We stayed at Hlosi Game Lodge. https://www.amakhala.co.za
we booked through trailfinders.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 07/06/2026 10:50

@Poobs2022 Yes, I suspect no safari flight. Just a flight to Cape Town or port Elizabeth? These rewilded farms are not quite the same though.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 07/06/2026 10:55

I'll only use an operator that is covered by the Package Tour Regulations...... & I don't think the companies you quoted are - unfortunately as they do look good.

I looked at a few EA holidays, & they do not include flights.

Ive used Expert Africa twice. Although they dont include flights on their website they absolutely can and do book them for you so meet the package definition you want. ATOL certificate was provided.

My second trip was due to be in 2020... I was happy to postpone until the world was ready again so I think we ended up shuffling dates three times til I got to go in 2022 with the accommodation held at 2020 prices.

I would also recommend Yellow Zebra Safaris.

We booked through trailfinders and did Cape Town and Franschoek first. We had transfers between them all.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 07/06/2026 12:29

@Poobs2022 Yes but not on a small 8 seater aircraft I suspect. In Botswana these are common. That’s why not every holiday can be fully protected. We’ve used light aircraft several times and they save a lot of time.
