Beach resorts near Barcelona

Could you please suggest some nice beach resorts within an hour or so of Barcelona (by public transport) - looking at Callela but a little concerned it might be huge gracias :)

I’ve been to Sitges a couple
of times, lovely place. Great beaches.
In the other direction, Tossa de Mar, again great beaches, lovely old town, castle etc. I did fly into Girona though.

We used buses/trains/taxis, btw.

Salou/Cambrils area is nice. Salou is busier as it has the station and theme parks, but you can get to Cambrils really easily from there (right next door) and explore the old town.

Tossa de Mar is lovely. Beach, castle, cobbles and tapas. We've stayed there a couple of times pre cruise from Barcelona. We didn't want the noise of the city and Tossa was a perfect alternative for us. It's on the train route so very easy to get to Barcelona.
