Any recommendations for a couple of nights near a lovely beach with a nice town or village to potter around in over half term for a family of four with DC 11 and 8? I've just seen the weather forecast looks lovely for half term.
We are in the south east so it would need to be within a couple of hours drive really. We've been to Norfolk lots so maybe somewhere different.

Is Lyme Regis too far? Lovely town with a great beach

Deal in Kent is lovely and Dover Castle is a brilliant day out if you want to venture further.

Mudeford in Dorset is nice. Lovely sandy beach - you can catch a little ferry over to Hengistbury Head which is a beautiful nature reserve and from there you can catch another ferry to Christchurch which is a very pretty historic town. Loads for the kids to do - crabbing on Mudeford Quay, a splash park in Christchuch and the New Forest a short drive away with endless gorgous walks. If you don't mind driving then you could take them to Moors Valley which has the best adventure playground I've ever seen or Paultons Park which has Peppa Pig World. Have a great time wherever you end up going! 😎

Kent coast is beautiful, I do love Margate and Broadstairs as well as Whitstable.

Also Isle of Wight although ferry won’t be cheap over a bank holiday.

I am also a fan of Southend on Sea with the world’s longest pleasure pier but I think it’s an acquired taste😜

Lymington is also beautiful.

Gorleston beach is voted one of the UKs best, so stay there with a safe nice vibe for the kids and adults, and it’s more up market than Gt Yarmouth a short trip away. Visit GY, or go further north to Hemsby, for an afternoon or two if the children want to do arcades / candy floss / fish & chips the odd afternoon. The harbour seals have started their fluffy white pups on the beaches a stones throw further north - wardens and guides are in place to ensure visitors keep their distance.
