Anyone flown Ethiopian Airlines business class looking at Manchester to Addis Ababa then onto Johannesburg just wondering if it’s as good as Etihad or Emirates??

I think you may find it to be a bit different!

Not quite the same op. Safety wise fine, otherwise not so.

It's nowhere in the same league as Ethihad / emirates or qatar, but it is a decent airline, clean, on time and the safety holds up. If you're comparing business to business then it's not on the same level, but economy for example I was pleasantly surprised last year when we flew with them.

agree with others, it’s fine but not even BA like in terms of cabins. I really don’t think I’d pay a huge premium for business class with them.

It's not in the same league as Qatar or Emirates but they are decent airline. Addid Abbaba airport has had a massive refurbishment recently and is more like what you would expect of a major hub.

This was a while ago, but we holidayed in Ethiopia, no issues on the way out but the plane never materialised to bring us home, spent a sleepless night in the airport. They did put most/all of the tourists on the British Airways flight which flew the next day, so we got back to London eventually but sleeping in the airport was not ideal. I wouldn't be rushing to use them again. Ethiopia though was lovely.

I thought their business class was pretty good, had two different planes (can’t remember, which would make this more helpful). The jnb-Addis business class class was fab, like old school big seats with loads of space. The Addis-London leg was a more modern plane with lie flats but they were a bit cramped. Overall though; I thought it was good. Depends what you’re paying, I paid about the same as BA premium economy and it was way better than that

I LOVED their business class. The staff are fantastic, food was great, bed was comfy. I slept on the way back and they even left me the chocolates that they served with dinner on the side of my pod! - what's not to love. Totally non point but the female attendant in our cabin was so beautiful that she should have been a model and she was also lovely. I was warned they wouldn't be any good but frankly beat BA business hands down

The business lounge in Addis is massive and the food was pretty good. Sparkling wine not so much <off to check diamond shoes still fit>
