Has anyone done a holiday to Naxos and Paros with young kids (ours are 3 & 5) and what is the easiest way to get to Naxos (we live in North Yorkshire)?

Thanks!!

We went to Naxos, Syros and Santorini last summer with our DD who was 11. We flew into Mykonos and caught the ferry to Naxos. Be warned though, the ferry terminal is very chaotic but crossings were great. We had a fantastic time

I've only been to Paros once, pre-DS (and a very nice island it is too) but Naxos is my favourite - I've been there ten times!! DS has been coming with us since he was 3 and is now a young pro at Greek ferry travel 😄

UK -> Mykonos or Santorini then ferry is the easiest option assuming you don't have to drive for hours to get to your nearest airport offering those routes. We always spend the last night of our holiday on the island we're flying home from btw, just in case of ferry delays.

We've flown into Athens a couple of times, but obviously it's a longer journey to get to any of the ferry ports from the airport. You can actually fly from Athens to Naxos if you don't have much hold luggage and you're OK with propeller planes😄 The fast ferry from Athens takes around 3.5 hours from memory, though the slower ones (5-ish hours) are a better experience on windy days!

@NoisyBrain thank you very much for this! Very helpful! We have heard such great things about Naxos in particular 😀 and it looks like a flight to Santorini is our best option! Wondering what area do you stay in or recommend in Naxos? Thanks!

We always stay in Agia Anna. It's a fairly short bus ride to Naxos Town and the bus service is excellent (assuming you're not going out of season). Either side of Agia Anna you have Plaka and Agios Prokopios - all three areas have lovely beaches, places to eat, shops etc.

If you'd rather be within walking distance of the town then go for the Agios Georgios beach area.
