We went to Palma in November and loved it. We really liked Spot (https://grupotragaluz.com/en/restaurants/spot-mallorca/). Food was excellent.

We also went to Vandal which was a fun experience, but I didn’t love the food and the service wasn’t brilliant either.

Spot - Grupo Tragaluz

Spot - New restaurant En Compañía de Lobos Mallorca - Hello Mallorca!

Palma has every kind of restaurant imaginable. You can spend €200+ per head with wine pairings at Marc Fosh or €15 for a menu del dia with bottomless wine at lunchtime. There are steak 'n' lobster places that would not be out of place in London with almost zero Spanish customers (sometimes including a very un-Spanish "optional 12.5% service charge") and places where the locals go for a burger. What sort of thing are you looking for?

Not somewhere that’s a tourist trap. Up to say €100 a head.

We were in Palma 10yrs ago but this place was lovely. It wasn't in the city part, but maybe a 5-10min taxi ride away towards the port on a hill. There was a more famous restaurant nearby at the time but we went here. I 'think' we were the only non Spanish in the restaurant which was refreshing. It felt like a family run, popular local restaurant.

The Michelin guide has 1 x 1 star restaurant but several others recommended. Look at what they serve and prices. It’s a reliable up to date guide. Time Out suggests OMBU for tapas.

Not sure if it’s a tourist trap or not as I am easily pleased, but we liked Abaco for cocktails

I live in Mallorca and for special occasions I either go to adrian quetglas or fosh in palma. They are both fantastic and quetglas especially is great value. We go for lunch normally. If you like Mexican then head to primo taqueria in Santa Catalina. Ombo just down from Louis Vuitton and other posh shops is fab for tapas. I also like nipping out to hotel portixol and eating there just because it’s lovely. There are lots of great places and most are not too expensive.

I really liked Abaco too! It’s just a door on a wall but opens up to a fabulous inner courtyard garden. And you are free to explore rest of the building.

The Duke was great for dinner. It’s quite small so reservation is a must. Great atmosphere, amazing service and food was just so good. We’re going the second time this July!

This place does amazing tapas. It’s very busy so you need to get there soon after it opens. It’s not a fancy place but the food is great

I recently went to Palma with two teenagers. I got my restaurant recommendations from Chat GPT. We went to:
OMBU Paseo del Borne
Surry Hills Coffee and Brunch
Marina Bay Palma
We enjoyed them all. Particularly the first two.
Fab city. Enjoy!

Scarlettjune · 16/05/2026 23:43

I am just back from Palma. I miss it. Even though the weather was hit and miss.

I wont be able to afford to go again until next year. Everywhere is lovely there. Just get there!

Overthemoun · 17/05/2026 09:34

Thank you for the recommendations. Would you say you have to book or can we just see what we fancy when we get there?

Casa Jacinto is excellent. Order the beef on hot stones. Delicious.

Abaco is a tourist trap but a beautiful one nonetheless. There are good restaurants on the same street and a great ice cream place on the corner. My meno brain has forgotten names. Sorry.

Try Tast for casual or Tast Club for something smarter. Botanic is also really lovely.

Ombu is a good suggestion. Cappuccino is a lovely coffee shop chain. Good for food and people watching. The Portixol is nice.

The Santa Catalina area of Palma is the gastronomic area and has loads of great little places to try. So many cuisines.

Enjoy.

I also posted upthread about this restaurant and that is what we had. We also had that caracoles (snails) which is one of their signature dishes. Very different to the way they are served in France. They were in a delicious, and from memory, in gravy like sauce and really yummy, although I appreciate not everyone likes snails.

El Camino, where you sit at the bar and watch the chefs cook. Amazing food.
Agree with Abaco for a cocktail.
We stayed in the Almudaina Hotel, and the Sky Bar was fabulous for food.

That’s exactly why I mentioned it @7238SM! It’s a good one, isn’t it?!
