Italian Lakes, not tooooooo popular 😆

We have flights booked for an Italian Lakes trip in September, and for various reasons are only just getting round to booking the detailed stuff.

Has anyone got any tips of places that have a bit of life, but aren’t the most popular? Hotel recommendations appreciated too. Would like to avoid the worst of the Instagrammers, so would prefer somewhere a bit quieter to stay, and just visit anywhere particularly ‘popular’.

Without knowing where you are flying to it’s really difficult to say

Flying in and out of Milan (will spend a few nights there), and we’ll have a car.

Oh I’d go with Maggiore then. Stresa specifically. My suggestion would’ve been Malcesine but not flying into Milan.

Not an onerous drive, will look.

Lago d'Iseo is quieter- maybe too quiet for you?

Cannero on maggiore is lovely and good boat connections to islands, stresa and gardens at verbena. Hotel Cannero is great
