Holiday recommendations

Can I please have your best recommendations for a holiday abroad (from the UK) for a 5 year old and 2 adults (myself and partner).

I have virtually no experience of travelling except for 1 hen do (not organised by me) and 1 abroad holiday for a week around 10 years ago prior to having a child. I’m wary about spending a lot on something without getting recommendations (I don’t really know anyone that well travelled so have no one I can personally ask)

I think I’d prefer all inclusive. I want something that my child would find fun too (probably not a holiday club as I wouldn’t feel comfortable not having her in sight).

I think 7-10 days would be ideal. Budget wise I’m not sure. I really value cleanliness so would be willing be pay extra to feel I am staying somewhere clean.

My daughter keeps asking to go on an aeroplane so any recommendations would really help me decide where we should go!

Departing from which airport? Time of year? Preferred country?

Tiredtom · 10/05/2026 21:51

From Birmingham and possibly next May as I will need time to save! And I’m not fixed on a a country but ideally not more than 4ish hours on the plane. Thank you!

I think from what you’ve said that Turkey would suit. You haven’t said whether you want to explore the country but I got the impression you’re not as bothered about that?
Depending on your budget, my friend loved the Tui Magic Life in Belek. I haven’t been but she showed me photos and she also values cleanliness and plenty for the kids.

All inclusive adds a massive amount to the cost and is worth it IMO if you have teenagers or you like to drink a lot.
Otherwise look at half board and compare the price.
Other than that how hot would you like it to be?
Do you want quiet and scenic or busy with lots to do?

Tiredtom · 10/05/2026 22:24

@EstrellaPolar i will check that out thank you so much for the recommendation!!

@TheChiffchaff my initial thoughts were all inclusive just so I don’t have to worry about the meals or snacks etc at all. Thank you for that advice though I will factor that in as we may well not need all the added extras! Thank you !

in terms of heat, probably low to mid 20s!

Austria is amazing- beautiful, safe and clean. A paradise for children - sound of music tour in Salzburg

Holiday Village Türkiye would be great for those ages. It’s a 20 min transfer from the airport. Food is exceptional. And there’s tons of activities on for the kids which you can dip in and out of as you please.

Menorca, short flight and nice beaches

oneplustwoplustwoplusone · 11/05/2026 08:26

Book a nice easy package holiday. We’ve had a good time with the kids at Tui Blue hotels. We’ve done Menorca and Ibiza. Good kids club could hire all the baby/toddler stuff if needed.

Filter on flight times and/or other preferences

I would agree with menorca or Majorca. Short flight, good medical care if needed, lots of families

sound of music tour with a 5 year old 🤔🤔 !!!!!!

I would say Tenerife south in may, turkey possibly late may
also worth paying for a ‘premium’ all inclusive, it really is worth it
