We’re a family of five with a little dog who hasn’t been with us long so will be taking him on holiday with us this year.

Kids are teens+ so I’m looking at Center parcs sites in Europe that are more geared towards older kids.

Would love to hear from anyone who has made the trip to De Vossermeren or other suitable sites and how you found the experience and travelling.

Travelling with a dog is going to be more challenging, but he’s well behaved so I’m hoping it will still be an enjoyable trip.

We’ve had a few years of relaxing but adventurous holidays and I’m worried about getting it right.

We haven’t been to De Vosserman, nor taken the dog with us (sorry!) but we have been to De Kempervennen, and loved it! We flew, but would have very happily driven it. We only flew because we were going on elsewhere in Europe and didn’t want to drive that far.

We went with a pre-teen, but the site is great for older kids/teens. The pool is fantastic, there is also an indoor ski school on site, which has real snow. You can book lessons, or just ski sessions if you have experience. Lots of other activities and all pretty reasonably priced. You often get an activity voucher when you book online, we got a €30 voucher when we went, it can then be used on any activities when you get there. We enjoyed the pool so much we didn’t do too many activities, but we did bowling and also the inflatable assault course on the lake, which was fab. We also hired bikes and really enjoyed cycling round the site. You can cycle into local towns on really nice bike paths.

10/10 would recommend!

Oh, also, we saw loads of dogs around the site!

Thank you so much for replying and for the glowing review! I have also been considering de kempervennen so will look at that one more thoroughly now too. Great to hear it is recommended and it does sound perfect with so much to do!

We stayed for 5 nights at De Kempervennen and combined it with 2 nights at the Efteling theme park, which was just fantastic, we really loved it. I would really recommend that, even if you just did it as a day trip from center parcs. It’s only about 40 mins or so away. Although I guess taking the dog with you might get in the way of that! My husband always says we should take the dog with us to Eurocamps or Center Parcs abroad, but I do like the freedom of being able to do stuff that isn’t doggie friendly.

We loved de kampervennen but my dh is a snow boarder and the dc has skiing lessons.
