Need suggestions for summer holiday!

i need some help / ideas / recommendations with planning my summer holiday please! We normally do a mix of city break and relaxing but this year I am keen that we focus on the relaxing side and am thinking of an AI resort. But with pretty wide parameters there are just so many places to choose from! Holiday is for me, DH, DD1 (age 17) and DD2 (age 14) and for 7-10 days, and we would be flying from London. Some points that might help:

— we don’t necessarily need interconnecting rooms / 2 bed apartment as the girls can share a hotel room, but an option where we can be together is a bonus
-we want sun but not ridiculously hot, so more Balearics than Turkey for example, although I was quite interested in Montenegro and surrounding areas
-I am not a big fan of huge, high hotels so would prefer something smaller and/or low rise
-doesn’t need to be a package holiday, we are happy to sort flights etc out separately, particularly if that means we don’t need to get up in the middle of the night to catch the flight!
-cleanliness is v important to us
-budget is around £7k ideally

Can anyone suggest any AI hotels / resorts that might still have availability in late July / August that fit the above criteria? Thank you!

The Med will be hot, Majorca had nearly 40 degrees the last couple of years.

I would look at Portugal or Costa de la Luz at the Spanish Atlantic coast. Quiteter and cooler.

When DD was 15 we found that booking a package was actually cheaper as most hotels classed her as an adult and made the price sky high. With Tui she was still a child.

The Canaries are often cooler than many places in the summer and will have loads of accommodation options as they don’t tend to be as popular as, say the Balearics in July/August. Lanzarote is not allowed any high rises so might be good or Fuerteventura for cooling breezes.

Just had a quick look for you. TUI have plenty of options in Lanzarote including a two bed apt all inclusive under budget at TUI blue Flamingo beach!

Thank you both, I had assumed the Canaries would be hotter being further south. I don’t think we could cope with 40 degrees! I’ve been to Lanzarote a couple of times already but will definitely look into it and Feurteventura. Like the idea of Portugal too - do you mean the Algarve area?

We went to Cascais, that's further north, near Lisbon. But it doesn't have the typical beaches.

Neighbours went several times to the Algarve. They like it but say it can get windy.

We went to Chiclana near Cadiz one year, love the beaches but it's definitely quieter and it caters definitley for the Spanish and there were also plenty of Germans (but no sunlounger war).

Ibiza, somewhere like Es Cana, Santa Elulia, Portinatx, Port des Torrents - daughters won’t technically be allowed to share though, Bless Es Cana and Bless Cala Nova are my favourite but your budget might not stretch that far. Tui Blue PdT would and has a water park on site which is shared with the next door holiday Village, I think your kids may be too old for that now though but worth a look too. You should get 7 nights in budget.

You could put your requirements in jet2holidays.com to see what's on offer.

Both DC will count as a child with them as under 18 and you could book one room each for parent and a DD, they won't care if you don't occupy the rooms differently. You might even get a free child place.

BA holidays might also work as you're going from London. For jet2 at least, a lot of their flights go in the daytime, eg the last time I used them to go to Lanzarote, I flew out at 9.30 and came back mid afternoon.

Thanks, I have spent a lot of time looking on Jet2 and TUI’s websites but it’s hard to filter for things like “small resort”! Recommendations are so helpful too. Really appreciate everyone’s thoughts.
