Eczema friendly sun cream for babies

Hi, my little one has CMPA and as a result has eczema. We are going on holiday in may- he is 6 months old. With the weather also getting warmer I am looking for an eczema friendly sun cream that won’t flare his skin up. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you!

Isn’t the advice for 6 month olds to keep them out of the sun, so sun cream shouldn’t be required?

I have been advised to use sun cream even in the shade. He will be kept in the shade as much as possible but I suppose sometimes unavoidable. GP, health visitor and my own research have all given conflicting advice.

Altruist always worked for us but last year they must have changed the ingredients as my DD started reacting. La Roche Posay Anthelios is pretty good as is Green People Organic Children. This year I’ve just bought the Child’s Farm one to try as some say that’s good.

I’m paranoid about sunburn (am very pale skinned and had awful sun burn as a kid) so never let mine in direct sunlight except for brief moments at that age, and always used SPF sun shades rather than rely on “natural” shade (trees etc) that can still let UV through.

I can’t imagine wanting to put any sun cream on a baby’s face, though!

I found Childs farm really good. We also got on well with the moisturiser for everyday use. You can sometimes find the small sun lotions at home bargains for £1.99 which is so cheap as they are usually much more expensive.

We also love soltan from boots (both my kids have eczema) but I’d stick with the more sensitive ones when your child is so little.

Altruist is the only one I've found DD and I don't react to. Was recommended by my consultant dermatologist.

Prior to that I'd tried Eucerin, roche posay, Clinique, and various ones marketed as suitable for babies.

It's trial and error but I'd recommend trying the cheapest one recommended on here first maybe.

Another vote for MooGoo. We live in Australia so our kids are in the sun all the time... they've never had any b sunburn. It's super thick but works amazingly. I think you can buy it in Holland and Barratt in the UK. Pricey but worth it.

Yes me too! I’m a red head with fair skin and my children have inherited this from me too so definitely would avoid the sun where possible. He’s 6 months now but will be 7 months at the time we go and guidance is conflicting so thank you for your advice! Just wanting to make sure I am doing the right thing by my baby as we never went away when my eldest child was this small.
