Thinking of a long haul holiday for family of 5 next April.

Is Mexico a good idea.

Any other recommendations?

Looking for nice weather, some good trips. Possibly AI but doesn't need to be.

What are the ages, what is your budget and what are your expectations (fly and flop, kids clubs, adventure or sightseeing)?

Kids aged between 9 and 12. Budget between 10k and 15k.

Open to a mixture of experiences on holiday.

Mexico certainly ticks your boxes and with a budget that size you should be able to fly premium economy too!

Are you wanting to swim in the sea? Research the seaweed issues in the Mexican beach resorts, I think by April this year there was a lot of seaweed. We didn't go to Mexico in the end and it does look like some beaches are better than others in terms of seaweed washing up, so research carefully. It's also a good time of year for Thailand or Sri Lanka.

Indonesia? The weather will be good and your money will go far. You could stop over at Singapore for the Gardens, Zoo, City break and then fly to Bali or Lombok. Accommodation is cheap and for a family of 5, you could pick up a lovely villa with breakfast and a pool for under £100 a night. It will help balance the increasing costs that will be spent of the flights.

would you consider china? Great mix of natural beauty, history and very affordable
