Ideas for rainy days in Sth Bucks area - DS (6yrs) and DD (3yrs) staying with parents and forecast is heavy rain

Hi there

My parents are having our children for the weekend and the plan has been for ages to go to Whipsnade on Saturday.

However, the weather forecast is terrible.

Anyone got any suggestions what they can do indoors with the children?

My parents are not swimmers, so that is not an option.

DD is a real girlie girl too!

Please help!

Can highly recommend legoland in the rain (dress accordingly) because there will be very little queueing.

How south are you? Zoomania in Aylesbury or there is a huge play area in Thame too, they are good for a few hours, comfy chairs for the parents, coffee etc!

Legoland in rain? Really? That would be fine in showers but they are saying heavy rain all day. Would it still be okay then?

My parents are in Amersham so Aylesbury not too far at all

Thanks both and will pass these ideas on to my mum and dad!

Any more ideas welcome too!

There is also kids cinema at 11 at the odeon so they could tank them up with sugar through the film and whizz them off to Zoomania - that's my day sorted anyway, if it's raining!!

Junglemania in Bourne End is really good for kids your age, it's about a fiver each for the kids to get in, grandparents sit and read the paper whilst they run around. It's not too big either, so there's less to worry about.

I would guess its about 20 mins from Amersham.

Hi there

Thanks everyone for your help and ideas.

In the end the weather was kind enough so they made it to Whipsnade and had a fabulous time.

Thanks again for all the suggestions and have kept them for another time!
