Anyone else always holidaying in one country because of partner’s fixation?

DH is slightly autistic. One of the ways it manifests is him getting obsessed with a country. His current one for the last 5 years or so is Greece.

He loves researching every little detail about random Greek islands. We then go on holiday to these places. Many of which are gorgeous, some not so much. We go to Greece maybe once or twice a year.

This is great but then the world is a big place and there’s so much to see. Is there anyone else in a relationship like this?

Firstly, you're either autistic or you're not.

Secondly, no, because holidays are paid for by both of us so we get an equal say.

Why haven’t you input into where to go?

Agreeing that you can’t be ‘slightly autistic’, and that both people going on holiday get equal say.

I know someone like this, they find a 'safe' country and then they go there every holiday. By safe I don't necessarily mean physical safety, but safety in terms of familiar foods, familiar driving or just making yourself understood etc. I suggest you come up with a destination that appeals to you and start planting the seeds in his head, say something like remember that time we went to palace of Knossos in Crete, I saw there were some similar ruins at Paestum in Italy, why don't you have a look and see if it looks interesting. Do this well in advance of even discussing next holiday destination, so he can research a whole new place and hopefully the idea grows on him. I have no idea whether it's Greek ruins that he is obsessed with or something else entirely, but you get the gist.
