I'm looking for some suggestions for a couple of days in Austria this summer.
We will be driving from Germany to Croatia. Last year we did one night in Tauern, which was perfect, and I'd like something similar.
Where to go? We want somewhere not manically busy, spectacular mountain views, able to go up in cable cars, gentle walking ok but absolutely no hiking, nothing very strenuous. No interest in anything sporty. Good food important.
Bonus if there is interesting sightseeing esp. anything quirky to do nearby :)
Does not have to be a well-known tourist spot at all.
We are me, DH, DS1 (19) and DS2 (11).
I can find accommodation myself once I know where is a good place to go.
(Also doing similar on way back, probably stopping in Slovenia and I think it's going to be Lake Bohinj this year)
