August recommendations near Alicante

Please could you share resort/town recommendations for an August holiday, adults and older teens, near Alicante?

Found some reasonable flights but we know nothing about that part of Spain.
I’d like to avoid self catering but can compromise. Wish list is pool (must for teen), sea nearby, places DH can wander during day and for rest of us in evening, nothing too busy but not ultra quiet either. As a guide we have loved Pollensa, Cala San Vincence and Lake Garda towns, Playa Blanca.

El Campello, Villajoyosa, Altea, Calpe all lovely places. Or you have Benidorm if that's your thing.

There's a beach, a marina and an esplanade as well as the city, so it's a really good mix.
