Flydrive or book separately (Orlando)?

We have booked a villa for next May in Orlando but after spending hours on the internet I'm still unsure whether it would work out better to book a flydrive e.g Travelcity Direct or Viring or to book flights and car hire separately? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? Also which airline do people receommend - should we pay a bit more and go BA or Virgin or go with Travelcity? Any ideas/opinions will be very helpful.

If you book fly drive make sure there are no additional extras that you find you may need to pay for insurance wise when you get to Orlando. Check both prices and go with the better deal. We found booking ourselves the best deal so that the flydrive people don't take a cut.

Only ever flown to Florida with Virgin and BA so can't compare to any of the package airlines.

When we went a couple of years ago we booked our flights through Trailfinders (flew Virgin) and our car hire through Airline Network. This worked out cheaper at the time than a flydrive option.
I've always found Trailfinders' staff to be very helpful and their flight prices to be about the same (or sometimes less) than booking online. However, their car hire was a lot more expensive than booking through Airline Network.
