Has anyone been? Is it any good? We have a 6 & 3 year old and it looks great for them. Thinking 3 or 4 nights there

Goodness that takes me back, OP! We're in Lincolnshire and used to take the DC there years ago for a day out. Baby is now 21, so you can imagine how long ago it was, but it was great fun.

I can't help on what staying there is like, I'm afraid and I'm very out of date with what they have there.

I have six year olds triplets and we’ve long outgrown Sundown, but mine are thrill seekers. When we did go we went for day trips, personally I think 3 or 4 days is a really long time for somewhere so small.

Thanks both, I did wonder if it was a bit young for the 6 year old. Will take a look at other places

You should go but not for 3-4 days. There is clumber park nearby though and other things. I would say 6 is a perfect age.

Sundown is ok for a day but 3-4 is likely too much. You've got the likes of the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Gullivers (Kingdom? Valley?), Clumber Park and other things I cant think of that are not too much of a drive away.

Geneticsbunny · 15/04/2026 08:41

I agree. You can do the whole place easily in a day.

Me too! Nearly 30 years ago now but it was an absolute favourite for years.
We used to call it Treswell Park, I can't remember why.

Absolute joy of a place for under 8s. Take a picnic.
One day is enough.
To add to the other suggestions there is White Post Farm near Clumber park. My all time favourite photo of DS2(28) as a toddler holding a duckling was taken there.
