Which autopay company to use for French toll roads?

We’re driving through France this summer and want to have autopay set up for the toll motorways as it’s a faff getting out at each payage area. DH is getting in a tizzy as there are quite a few different options. Basically we want cheap and reliable. The cheapest we’ve found is Bip and Go as you only pay for the months you use it, plus the set up fee is pretty low. Online reviews are ok but there are a few that said it didn’t work.

What have others used and were they good? We’ll be there in July and August.

Have used bip and go for years. Same widget for nearly 4 years now. You just have to chose the correct lane - the ones with the 30kph sign for max efficiency and mindful of height restrictions if you've got bikes/roofbox (chose the lane without the height bar).

We have bip and go for France and Spain /Portugal. You'll need two buy different tags if you want to use in Spain .. The French one is Sanef .. it's easy and we've never found any problems with it, just get billed when we use it and each year for service charge . Also don't forget to get a Crit'air sticker for French cities and environs . That's also easy, we did it online.

Thanks both. We’ve got our Crit’air already.
@paperfarm,regarding height restrictions, so does that mean with a roof box we would need to drive through the standard toll gates but the gate with automatically raise? I’ve just had a quick Google and it looks like that is the case. I can’t quite work out though if all the pèageges have the “t” option for taller vehicles, though! We don’t mind stopping at the gate, the biggest faff is me having to get out on the passenger side to swipe my card or put the ticket in.

I have one that was Mango mobilites and now Fulli. Absolutely brilliant. I even bounced a payment and it just took it two weeks later no problem.

with a roof box you can drive through all except the height restricted ones (these are usually the 30kph ones where you don’t need to stop).

You can also drive through the green arrow ones if they are quieter and the tag still works, it’s just the t ones will only have vehicles with a tag.

With the bip and go you can travel through any lane. It's just the 30kph ones have the tech (presumably) so you can slow down to 30kph and it will open in time. Any other lanes you have to practically stop before the barrier opens.

This means the height restriction thing is easy in practice. Ideally yes you get unrestricted height plus 30kph.... but if you get unrestricted height and need to stop you've lost 10-15 seconds.

Another one who uses Bip & Go with no problems.
