Best relaxing couples holiday in Europe for early June?

My husband and I are going away together for the first time in the 17 years without our children. We were previously looking at portugal but we're now looking at other locations.

So I guess what I'm asking is what is the best hotel/Destination that you and your partner have stayed at in Europe we will be going away early June.

We are looking to avoid family type hotels as it will just make me miss my children and wish they were there! That feeling as a mum where you need a break, but you miss them when they're away from you!

We're not really looking for a city break . We've already done Rome this year with the kids, with the help from mumsnetters who gave lots of fabulous advice!
Ideally a coastal town, small town or country break. something relaxing

We went to Mallorca last summer on our first holiday leaving our late teens at home alone. We stayed at three different places on the island over 7 nights - Port de Soller, Peguera and Palma. It was a brilliant trip, and the start of new holiday adventures without kids! Port de Soller is particularly nice and not somewhere we would have ever been with kids - nice restaurants, scenic old town, pottering around the marina

Have been looking at mallorca. Did you stay in any hotels you'd recommend ?x

I live in Mallorca. Cala d’or is lovely so I recommend there as is port de Pollensa (I live near there so possibly biased). Also port d’andratx at the other end of the island though it doesn’t have a beach but has lots of great restaurants and Tim’s bar where you can watch the sun set over the harbour. Peguera is next door if you want beaches and lots of Germans.

We went to Skiathos last June. Beautiful.

one of the many Greek islands, lots of choice - . We’re off to Kalymnos in June.

Alghero.

Sicily is a great option, look at resorts near Taormina. Not so many British tourists and not really a family destination. Great restaurants and excellent people watching, added bonus is Etna’s rumbling so you might get a fireworks show
